People and Peace of Mind
Everyday in life most of us have to face people. Various people. Older people, younger people, people with same age as us, richer people, lesser people. Kind people, weird people. Family members, friends, coworkers, employers, employees, clients, and the list goes on.
Dealing with people around us is a thing that we have to do daily. It is always a challenge for us to face. To deal with people, communicate with them, please them, obey them, oppose them, stating our opinion, liaise with them and many more require a skill or a right and safe attitude so that we can always feel positive and not drained by negative attitudes from them.
Accepting Good and Bad in People
For our closest people like family members and best friends, accepting who they are, accepting their good and not so good qualities is a key to happiness and calmness is our relationship and our life. Every people have their good and bad qualities or values. Embracing their good values, and accepting their not so good values and being patient with it and just forget it will help us to maintain the relationship and our peace of mind. Just remember that we ourselves also have our own weaknesses we need people to accept.
Good Communication
Communicating is a key in maintaining a smooth and good relationship. Try to converse in the manner the other people can accept and understand. Always, other people cannot read things that are in our mind if we don't tell them about it. Communicating in a good and polite way may save people from keep guessing about certain thing and even solve some problems. Again, patience is also a key in a good communication.
Patience
Patience itself is a key in maintaining a peaceful life around people. Being patient can save us from a lot of embarrassment. And the people who are patient will get good reward from God.
Acknowledging Weaknesses and Being Kind
Acknowledging people's weaknesses or sickness can also make us more peaceful and kind. We won't expect sick or weak people to do things they cannot do, and we don't put high expectations to them. Being kind to other people can bring us happiness in our heart.
Put Ourselves in Other People's Shoe
Put ourselves in other people's place to understand why they behave, think in certain ways or say certain things can save us from misjudging people and help to understand them better. This also can bring peace of mind to ourselves.
Agree to Disagree
Agree to disagree. Oftentimes, people love to force their opinions and preference on others. When other people just agree or follow, there may be no problem. But when there are people who disagree and want their opinion and words to be accepted too, the problem arise. Sometimes, if possible, it is better to agree to disagree and respect other people's thoughts, opinions and preferences to maintain peace and happy heart.
In my opinion, life is not easy. We need to be kind but wise. Maintaining and managing good relationship with people around us as long as they are normal people, kind and sincere to us, is one of the key to peace of mind.
